I have a huge Lantana bush in the front yard of my home. Today it was covered with butterflies, bees, and some moth like bugs.
Monday I posted “It’s My Birthday Today” a celebration of all the wonderful “gifts” in my life. Little did I know on that day I would receive a fantastic gift from people whom I had just met!
As you are reading this I am off on celebration. Not a quiet one, but boisterous and joyful as it should be on a day like this.
I was taking my usual evening walk when I spotted a group of these blooming in front of an empty house.
This is a shot I made during recent trip. It is early in the morning, not too long after sunrise.
The road called to me Sunday morning at 6:10 AM. “Hellooooo Rider! Rider! Get up it’s time to go!” Now the road KNOWS I don’t get up BEFORE 6:15, and my alarm had not gone off just yet. So I turned over hoping for a few minutes peace, not this morning. Again the call, “Rider! get up! Donner is waiting! Let’s go!” As you may have guessed, I’m “Rider” and if you ever want to sleep in on a Sunday morning, never, never, ever take “the road” as a mistress!
My neighborhood has been changing the past few months. Due to the economy some families have lost their homes and been evicted. Just recently I was taking one of my walks on a overcast Sunday morning. It had been raining and the air was still misty and damp. In the early morning gloom a spot of bright orange caught my eye. Then I noticed the foreground, littered on the front lawn and driveway were household belongings. Most of us have seen this before, the evicted parties possessions dumped on the street. The orange notice pulled me in, normally I would have just walked on, after all, it’s not any of my business is it? Then I saw the children’s toys, I decided to go back for my camera and photograph the scene.
