I Can Wait

Peach Rose At Sunrise

I can wait.

Till we meet for the first time.

For that first time we touch and feel the spark.

I can wait.

For our first time alone.

For that first tender kiss.

I can wait.

To feel the softness of you in my arms.

For the first time you whisper my name as you yield to my kisses.

I can wait.

To wake that first dawn and find the tousled ringlets of your hair on my chest.

For that first night I sit and watch as you sleep in our bed.

I can wait.

I can wait, for I know these first times come in due time to fulfill love’s promise.

Yes, I can wait.

Love will come in due time, sometimes love isn’t always on time, yet, the right love is always worth waiting for.

Thank you Maria, I guess I am a romantic. I write my poems about couples in the loving relationships we all dream about, and should have in our lives. Dreams can come true, all that is needed is the belief that is possible, and to hold the feeling of that love in you heart. I will keep writing, I have a new poem in the works called “Come With Me” I will try to finish it soon. I hope you enjoy it as much as this one.

Thank you very much Simone, the words arrived early this morning after a late night conversation with a muse. The image just seemed to fit the tone of the words, I had several of mine to choose from. I pondered the match a bit and finally got it sorted. I’m happy to hear from someone else that the two work together.
